Love is More Than Just Talk

By

Caryl, of Melvyn Caryl

Hello Loved Ones:

I love this time of year. I always have. As a child, I remember my mother decorating the house, shopping for gifts and little whispers between my parents--probably about where to hide the presents. There was always Christmas music, either someone playing the piano or organ or a phonograph record (that tells you how long ago that was).

All the old Christmas music was new then and Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby and Karen Carpenter where still alive and singing their signature Christmas songs on TV specials.

Every year when I get out the Christmas decorations, the task  of decorating at first feels daunting. I never do it in a small way. It usually takes days. But when it is done and I look at all the sparkling lights it brings back memories of  my childhood home and family and the childhood of my grown children. Once again, I can see their little happy faces as they first experience the joy and wonder of this season.

We decorated our home today, with Christmas trees, little villages, garlands, angels, pinecones and poinsettias. It is lovely and I feel so blessed to have this time to share with our family and friends. I take nothing for granted. I realize how fortunate we are to have all that we have and to share what we have with others. Forgive my nostalgia but this does connect with what I want to express in this article.

When I was faced with writing an article for this month, I was at a bit of a loss--which will be a surprise for many of my friends who probably think that I have an inexhaustible reservoir of verbiage to put forth. Not so.

As many of you know, we are working on our first book which will be a multimedia e-book presentation of The Power of Love, The Seven Powers of the Goddess Principle. I have to say that I am excited to see it come together with the audio meditations that will help us all focus. So though we have been a bit "quiet" we have been very busy.

There has been a huge amount of channeled information given over the last few months and as soon as we get this book finished and on the site for down load we are going to share more of it with you.

So on to the message...

Most of my friends know of this website and have read enough of it to know what I think. So my views are not such a mystery—they are on the web! However, I thought perhaps during this season I would use this medium as well as my personal blog to put a bit more of a “Caryl spin” on one subject I feel passionate about.

There is a lot of talk about, making our world a better place by organizations with world peace in mind, including equal rights for minorities and between the masculine and feminine genders of our human race.  I agree. Our world certainly could stand a major overhaul when it comes to peoples of our world getting along and learning to live, if not in peace, at least in respectful tolerance with each other.

“Peace on Earth” has been a theme that I have heard since my childhood and seldom have I seen demonstrations of this concept really being put into action—at least to the point of actually making long term positive change. In my younger days, I watched the hippy generation
talk a lot about peace and love. Some progress was made in certain areas, but like many others before them who tried to create change, that passion slowly lost direction and faded like a scent on the wind.

Why?

Relationships between peoples and cultures cannot, and will not change, by words alone. Wishing it was so will not make it so.

There is a huge difference between political and religious approaches to social change and a spiritual approach. The wars in many parts of our world are a clear sign that politics is not the answer. Social justice arrived at through political change or religious influences deal with laws. Spiritual change is created from the heart.

One is through force (of law)—requiring forced change of others actions and beliefs through law. The other way is through the Power of Love.

It is only when you take action as the result of the Power of Love that you achieve lasting results. You can only change the world when love replaces hate. But there is a catch, “The Power of Love” is only effective if it comes from within each individual.

So changing the world can only happen one heart at a time--one individual at a time. The practice of “The Power of Love” requires persistent self-evaluation. And for it to be passed on to the next generation, it must be demonstrated in the home to our children so they learn tolerance and respect for others.

One can not approach this from the perspective of religious law that gives preference to one group of people over another as in “God’s
Chosen People.” Though some of our religions would have us believe otherwise, we are all sons and daughters of the same God and loved no matter what. It is up to us as individuals to put forth whatever we can to further the healing of our planet and our people.

For me, that is working with the ZZ Healing Team, (Healing of Humanity Program) helping relieve the pain of those with physical and emotional illness as well as the Earth Healings that take place four times a year.

If you would like to join us for the Earth Healings the next one will take place on December 22. You can click below for the time schedule of the Solstice Observance that will be held in the ZZ Chat rooms on that day. This also includes the Earth Healing Meditation. We would love to see you there.  (See Schedule) More about the Earth Healing can be found from the Healing Directory.

Whatever you choose to do, each person in small ways can do their part to make this world a better place.

I know some will say, “I don’t have time,” or they might say, “but what can I do? I am just one person.”

There are lots of ways you can help make change. It is not important how many you help; it is that you put the positivity out there. Help one person, and that one person may in turn reach many. There are thousands of ways. Depending on what country you are in, some of those ways maybe life changing for another.

A few dollars to a family in need.
Writing a lonely prison inmate.
Mentoring a child.
Helping at a shelter.
Or finding an elderly shut-in who needs contact with the outside world but cannot leave their home.

Something as simple as a phone call to a person and giving encouraging words for one who is going through a hard time can mean the world to another.

These are just a few. I am sure you can think of others. It is during this season that we seem to think of these things more than any other time of the year. So I challenge all of you to make a difference in the life of just one person during this holiday season.  Each heart you touch in turn touches another, and another, and another, and the chain of positive energy is initiated.

Find ways to demonstrate “The Power of Love.” Let it be the motivation for your life, and make your little part of the earth a growing example of what can be.

The Warmest of Holiday Wishes to all,
Love Always,

Caryl, of Melvyn Caryl
