My life has been so desolate

My heart, so dry and baron

Although I’ve had so much love to give

There’s been no one with whom to share it

I’ve walked my path; alone and afraid

No one ever understood my heart

So I closed them out with the wall I built

And lived my life in the dark

~

It’s said, “To feel lonely you don’t have to be alone.”

I guess that must be true

Because with all of the family and friends in my life

I was still all alone ~ Until You.

~

When I saw you from a distance you were drenched in light

That showered me with warmth and love

When I first saw your smile it brought a tear to my eye

Like when I look at the sun shining from above

~

When I first heard you speak my heart skipped a beat

And when you first took my hand I was SURE

I would never again be all alone in this world

There’s no such thing as “just me” anymore!
